Digital hub to support rural women

A DEDICATED hub aimed at connecting women in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia with relevant and up to date services and support, the Rural Women’s Resource (RWR), has been launched.
This NSW Government-devised resource, curated by the Rural Women’s Network, contains trusted, reliable information for women in regional, rural and remote NSW. The content is grouped into three areas – economic opportunity and advancement, participation and empowerment and health and wellbeing – and features more than 300 useful links to resources and services.
MP Liesl Tesch applauds the digital resource initiative which she said will make access to practical information in regional, rural and remote areas easier.
“It’s no secret women living in regional areas tend to find access to information more of a challenge. It’s great to see these valuable resources – on topics like cost of living, employment, training and career support – being brought together in one place.”

This resource hub also includes a section with tailored information specific to Aboriginal women, women living with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse women (CALD), LGBTQI+ women, women working in agriculture or primary industries, older women, young women and girls.

“I applaud the NSW government for developing a resource that helps to create opportunities for women to build personal and business resilience and helps strengthen these diverse communities.”

The RWR is funded as part of the NSW Government’s commitment of $3.7M over four years, in support of a range of initiatives and events.
